Online therapy FAQ — for women in NYC, New York & New Jersey.
Is Eden Root Therapy a group practice?+
Eden Root Therapy is a growing group practice founded by Andrea Dogostiano, LCSW. Andrea is currently our sole clinician, and additional therapists will be joining in the coming months. Prospective clients may join our waitlist to be matched with future clinicians as they are onboarded.
How do I join the waitlist?+
Use any 'Join Our Waitlist' button on the site or visit our contact page. While Andrea's availability may be limited, we are actively expanding our team and will reach out as soon as a new clinician becomes available.
Do you offer virtual therapy?+
Yes — all sessions are 100% telehealth via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. No commute, no waiting room, just connection from wherever you feel safe.
What states does your practice serve?+
Our clinicians are licensed in New York and New Jersey. To work with us, you must be physically located in one of these states during sessions.
How long are sessions?+
The initial intake is 60 minutes. Ongoing individual sessions are 50–60 minutes.
Do you accept insurance?+
Yes. We are in-network with many major plans including Aetna, Cigna, Optum, Oxford, Oscar, United, Empire BCBS, Highmark BCBS, and others. Out-of-network benefits may also apply — see the Fees & Insurance page for the full list.
What is your therapy style?+
Warm, collaborative, and grounded. Our practice integrates CBT, DBT, mindfulness, somatic, and relational approaches — tailored to what you need that day.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?+
If you're tired of carrying it all alone, want tools that actually work, or feel disconnected from yourself — therapy can help. A free 15-minute consultation is a low-pressure way to see if we're a fit.
What can I expect during the first session?+
We'll talk about what's bringing you in, your history, and what you'd like to feel different. You'll leave with a sense of direction and a plan for next steps.
Do you work with postpartum clients?+
Yes. Supporting women through postpartum, matrescence, and the early years of motherhood is one of our core specialties.
How often should I attend therapy?+
Most clients begin weekly or biweekly. We'll find the cadence that supports real momentum without overwhelm.
